Registration is now open for the Gredos Book Trail 2026, in Navaluenga (Ávila)

Dates: October 16–17, 2026 · Location: Navaluenga (Ávila), Sierra de Gredos · Organized by: Gredos Book Trail

The Gredos Book Trail returns to Navaluenga on October 16 and 17, and it’s going all out. After the resounding success of its first edition, the event expands this year to a full weekend and debuts a category many had been asking for: Street, a 100% asphalt route through some of the most spectacular mountain roads in the entire Sierra de Gredos.

For those who prefer the classic route, the Off-Road category is still available: around 200 km with 70% dirt tracks and technical trails through the wildest parts of the sierra, designed for trail and maxi-trail bikes. And for those looking for something more agile without giving up the thrill of the mountains, the new Street category offers the same spirit of adventure but on asphalt: a day of curves, mountain passes and breathtaking scenery, perfect for any road bike. Both routes start and finish in Navaluenga, share the same roadbook-based navigation format that gives the event its name, and include a tracking beacon and sweep vehicle so you can ride with total peace of mind.

But if the route is the excuse, the atmosphere is the reason so many riders come back: hot chocolate and churros to kick off the day, fruit and isotonic drinks at the aid station, and a closing picnic and barbecue at the end of the day with the best spread around — Avila’s famous chuleton steak included — all washed down with great vibes and camaraderie among riders from all over Spain. As the icing on the cake, this year Friday night brings a Fito & Fitipaldis tribute concert to get everyone warmed up before hitting the road.
