Bassella Race 2026: The Roar of the Maxitrails

Bassella Race 2026: The Roar of the Maxitrails!!

Hello everyone! Tomorrow marks the official start of the Bassella Race 2026, and at Gas&Fun, we couldn’t miss the chance to analyze what’s in store for us this weekend. With over 1,200 riders registered, the atmosphere in Lérida is going to be electric.

For those of us passionate about Trail and Adventure, this year the spotlight is more than ever on the Maxitrail category on Saturday afternoon. Who says these 200kg “beasts” can’t fly?

The Protagonists: A Duel of Legends

This year’s entry list is absolutely insane. We’ll see figures in action who are part of off-road history:

  • Iván Cervantes: Defending Triumph’s colors with his Tiger 900.

  • Kirian Mirabet: Always putting on a show with his impeccable technique on the Honda Africa Twin.

  • Mario Román: The HardEnduro champion making his debut in the Maxi category. And many more top professional riders.

Gas and Fun Moto-Tip: “Survival Setup”

As a former rider, I know many of you are heading to Bassella (either to race or to watch and then do your own route). If you get into muddy or rocky sections with a Maxitrail, remember:

  • Pressures: Don’t go crazy dropping the pressure as if it were an enduro bike. On a heavy Trail bike, dropping below 1.5 bar without specific mousses is a guaranteed rim strike and the end of the party.

  • Position: In the “fesh-fesh” or muddy areas expected this year, keep your body back and the throttle steady. Let the front wheel float; if you cut the gas, the weight of the Maxitrail will sink you.

Are you heading up to Bassella?

If you’re there, don’t miss the commercial area on Saturday morning. The brands have pulled out all the stops for 2026, and it’s the perfect place to get a close look at the factory setups.
