From September 26 to 28, 2026, the province hosted the CFMOTO MT Challenge World Final for the first time ever. This was a true test of navigation, consistency, and off-road riding skills\u2014not a speed race\u2014where 19 national teams battled it out on identical bikes: the CFMOTO 1000MT-X. Team Spain pulled off an epic comeback to secure 2nd place, right behind Guatemala and ahead of France.<\/p>\n<figure><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.gasandfun.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/10\/1-converted.jpg\" alt=\"Equipos de todas las naciones con sus banderas en la Final Mundial del CFMOTO MT Challenge 2026 en Huelva\" \/><figcaption>Teams from around the world, representing their countries at the CFMOTO MT Challenge 2026 World Final.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<h3>What is the CFMOTO MT Challenge?<\/h3>\n<p>It isn&#8217;t a speed race: it&#8217;s a navigation and regularity challenge on off-road terrain, where every participant rides the same motorcycle so that the rider&#8217;s skill makes the difference, not the machine. Each team represents its country, which makes the event feel more like a nations&#8217; world championship than a typical brand competition.<\/p>\n<p>This 2026 edition was the first ever held in Spain, with the venue split between the Monteblanco Circuit (La Palma del Condado) and several locations across the province of Huelva. The original route, planned over forest tracks, had to be modified because of last August&#8217;s wildfires. The decisive day, held on a Monday, was spread across the Las Arenas Circuit, R\u00edo Tinto \u2014 where Spain posted its best single result of the entire event, in the regularity stage \u2014 the area known as &#8220;El Mochu,&#8221; and the Monteblanco Circuit itself.<\/p>\n<figure><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.gasandfun.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/10\/8-converted.jpg\" alt=\"Joint start of international teams at the CFMOTO MT Challenge 2026\" \/><figcaption>A joint start by several international teams during one of the stages.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<h3>Spain&#8217;s comeback<\/h3>\n<p>The Spanish team \u2014 made up of Mario Olmedilla, Dani S\u00e1nchez, Rodolfo Mart\u00ednez and Miguel Cepillo \u2014 went into the final day in fourth place. A strong final push carried them to silver, behind Guatemala (gold) and ahead of France (bronze), in an edition that brought together 19 countries.<\/p>\n<figure><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.gasandfun.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/10\/5-converted.jpg\" alt=\"The Spanish team in action during the R\u00edo Tinto regularity stage\" \/><figcaption>The Spanish team, with race numbers 001, 003 and 004, during one of the regularity stages.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<h3>Mario Rom\u00e1n and the &#8220;Dream Team&#8221;<\/h3>\n<p>Mario Rom\u00e1n, CFMOTO&#8217;s global ambassador, joined the event as part of the so-called reference &#8220;Dream Team,&#8221; alongside Jos\u00e9 Lombard\u00eda, Chris Power and Adri\u00e1n Raduta.
